About The Crooked Tower

The Crooked Tower is a free Halloween escape game where a slammed trapdoor leaves you shut inside a tower room with three ghosts. It is Halloween night, and the three little ghosts drifting around you (one in a top hat, one in a lace bonnet, one in a striped nightcap) lived here once. They will let you out only once the great beacon is lit again so lost souls can find their way home.

To get there you hunt for five carved bats, blow out the candle to see what the ghosts are hiding, read a far-off graveyard through a telescope and strike a bargain with a raven who loves shiny things. There is plenty to click and combine in one handmade-looking room, and it is a hard one, so give it around 30 minutes. Play it online on a computer or with touch on a phone, and turn to the walkthrough if a step stops making sense.

How to play

  • Click or tap around the room to take a closer look. Pick up anything that might be useful.
  • Select an item from your inventory, then try it where you think it belongs.
  • Keep an eye out for numbers, symbols and patterns. They may help you open a lock elsewhere.

Controls: Mouse or touch. No keyboard needed.

Players who like a long, busy Halloween escape room with lots of objects to click and combine. It runs on a computer with a mouse or on a phone and tablet with touch, and no keyboard is needed.

Yes, it saves automatically in your browser on that device, and a finished room stays marked as done. Clearing your browser data or switching to another device resets it.
